Recipes & Summer

This summer has been busy, fast, & it seems like school is just around the corner! BOO HISS! I have been a slacker on posting, but wanted you to know all is well.

Strawberry Shortcake

Ingredients: 1 Yellow Cake Mix prepared as instructions state – then the mix is divided into 2 cake pans 2 large containers of cool whip 3-4 quarts of strawberries Powdered Sugar

When cakes are cooled, cover with a thick layer of cool whip. Then layer the sliced strawberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.


Katy Cookies

2 cups sugar 1⁄4 pound oleo (1 stick) 1⁄2 cup milk 3 Tablespoons cocoa Pinch salt Put ingredients into large pan. Bring to rolling boil for 1 minute (stirring continuously). Remove from heat. Then add: 1 teaspoon vanilla 1⁄2 cup peanut butter 3 cups quick oats Stir well. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper to cool
